Meet WestCOP, home of 5 Steps to Five

 

For more than 50 years, Westchester Community Opportunity Program, Inc. (WestCOP), a private, nonprofit, multi-purpose social service agency, has been combating poverty and its adverse effects in Westchester and Putnam counties. Although WestCOP’s Early Childhood Development section operates 21 Head Start programs, 5 Steps to Five is its first 100% privately-funded initiative. All sessions, for parents and their children 0-3 years, are run by Head Start staff on Saturday mornings throughout the year, in the Port Chester Head Start classrooms at 17 Spring Street.
